Letter to PM Boris Johnson on Persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh

Rt. Hon Boris Johnson MP

Prime Minister

10 Downing Street

London SW1A 2AA

Dear Prime Minister,

We, the Hindus in the United Kingdom, are extremely hurt by the repeated religious massacres happening on Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. Over 1,500 innocent Hindus left homeless in the last couple of months alone, nearly 315 Hindu temples were vandalised and many Hindu girls and women abducted, raped and killed. This is an alarming situation in Bangladesh, a blatant violation of Human Rights and needs your immediate intervention.

The recent attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh clearly violate the Article 5 and Article 7 of United Nations Human Rights commission, that state “No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination”.

Please find the attached letter from over 150 organisations in the UK requesting your immediate intervention in this human rights crisis in Bangladesh.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Yours sincerely,

Bengali Hindu Adarsha Sangha (BHAS)
